Summer of 2018 is here and we fondly call it the season of mangoes and just that yellow tint all around. Seasons change but fashion pertains. You cannot afford to not look trendy because no excuses, lady! Takeover the hot summer heat with the following essentials:

1. Sunglasses are the heart and soul of any summer essentials list. They are the unofficial celebrities’ uniform and the official protection accessory, making it best of both the worlds. We love the good vibes that comes with this bright season but definitely not the strong rays of the sun. Invest in a pair of good shades fitted with lenses that block UV radiations. Get your hands on a few fancies and have cheaper ones too that add up to your otherwise dull OOTD. Right now, the whole World Wide Web is obsessing over small frame 90s inspired sunglasses.

2. Belt, the charmer that lights up pretty much every outfit and helps a baggy dress to fit like a dream. Other than just holding up your pants, belt has other style duties too. It has been noticed that the line between work wear and casual clothing is getting blurred. Belted trousers and dresses are a contemporary spin on workwear. It gives you all the retro feels you want this season while not compromising with the comfort at all. A long-line matching set worn with a belt can give a professional look to a pajama-like dressing.

3. Wardrobe hack to turn a strappy or a low-cut dress ready for office: Wear it over a plain T-shirt of a colour that complements the colour of the dress. White is an easy decision always. If you feel sleeveless is not your thing, here’s the trick. It’ll also save you the tan. There is a thin line between trendy and tacky. Don’t overdo it. It needs to look as if the dress was made that way and made just for you.

4. Monochromatic set: The exact same shade or a similar hue, wearing monochromes is here to stay. You can never have enough of your favourite colour, can you? White on white ensemble is forever a showstopper. Choosing the right crispy whites might get a bit tricky (unless you bought them just recently) but adding off-shades like ivory and cream can be the perfect blend to the rescue. Neutrals and soft pastels are the summer colours we are drooling over. Don’t forget to add a pop of colour to your single-toned outfit. Maybe with bright coloured footwear or layering it with a different colour family.

5. Summer calls for hoodies / sweatshirts too: The little portable safe zone to help your body adapt swiftly to changing temperature when you move into an AC room. Most of the classrooms or conference rooms are too chilly and its not feasible to adjust the temperature every now and then because one person feels cold. Grab a cute lightweight sweatshirt, made of a fabric not too winterish. It should be wearable as we cannot ignore the fact that its really hot outside, already.

6. The sun dress: A simple cotton midi dress that helps you create your own sunshine. The effortless and breezy romper is loved to bits for a reason. They are very versatile and have an easy wearability. They give “Throw-on-and-go” outfits its meaning. Your summer wardrobe is incomplete without these two staples.

7. The flare babies: Lightweight trousers & Bell-bottoms Sweating it out in the city, do it like its meant to be done. Skip the skin-tight jeans this summer and let it flow with the city vibes. No pressure, quite literally. Stock your wardrobe with breathable summer fabric pants like Chambray pants. Bell-bottoms is the retro touch you are going to add to your summer life while not giving up on comfort.

8. I “sheer” on you: While not revealing much, yet so chic. Carrying off a sheer outfit does NOT amount to immodesty. Just a tad bit of glamour quotient to jazz up your summer. Experiment with your style without doubting yourself. If you are confident about what you choose to pull off, there’s nothing that’ll go wrong. Just keep in mind to not wear absurd colours underneath.

9. Carry a face mist in your summer mini bag: Freshen up in a flash when the temperature is on spike. It’ll provide you the boost of hydration anytime, anywhere and keep you refreshed. Enlivens, energizes and revitalizes the the hot summer skin. You can always DIY it too..

10. Raid the men’s section, girls! : Not kidding, they have the most comfortable and cutest stuff ever. Boys T-shirts are all you want when you are in a mood of lazying around the day. Anything that’s not body fit will be my go-to outfit this summer, EVERY summer. No harm in stepping out of the house too while mastering the half-tuck in the linen pants or box jeans. This carefree look goes best with fur slides. Caption T-shirts work the best as they don’t feel too boyish. Also, Boyfriend jeans for life. Pull it off with a cool plain T-shirt or a camp shirt..

11. Loose & Ruffle Sleeves: We are crushing over ruffled sleeves, and the best part is that it hasn’t left ethnic outfits untouched by its magic. The fluff that it adds to a rather sleek outfit is winning hearts..

12. Hoop the loop: Give the final touch to your summer outfit with large hoop earrings. We love how it brings free spirit and excitement to the hot sunny day clothing..

13. Nautical vibes: Make waves along the way and carry the beach with you. Relaxed blue & white stripes to soothe your summer crankiness. Nautical clothing has such a easy breezy feel to it that we can only think of the next vacation.. and RELAX!.

14. Everything is better in a Mason jar: Even juices and milk. Not being a mommy at all, but I can’t stress enough how important it is to drink healthy and keep yourself hydrated to survive the hot summer. I know girls just wanna have SUN!

15. Button down dresses: They can also be worn as kurtis or can be layered over a smart casual jeans & T-shirt outfit. Made it to the list because we love how luxe they look because of the feminine feels attached to it.

16. A Denim Loyalist: Undoubtedly, Denim isn’t seasonal but pairing it with Aztec prints is so summer like. Also, if you don’t feel like wearing a denim jacket, you can always pull it off on your shoulders and give that sporty vibe out. These are two of my most favourite looks donning denim.

17. Last but never the least, spend some time by the pool. Water should be your best friend during summers. Not just keep yourself hydrated by drinking a lot of it but also give your body some relaxation by the poolside. You can plan it over the weekend with your girl friends and have a lot of fun. Two-piece swimsuits are recommended. Choose your swimsuit well as comfort comes first, style follows and I’m sure you don’t want tan lines.
